It’s no secret that in today’s modern age – where people are working more and retiring later in life, with increased pressures and ever-changing environments – the importance of both physical and mental health and wellbeing has never been higher.
Here at Village Glen, we strive to not only support our residents with their interests and hobbies, but also provide a range of options to promote healthy living and activities for all mobilities.
Studies have shown that practicing mindfulness reduces anxiety and depression. There’s also evidence that mindfulness can lower blood pressure and improve sleep; it may even help people cope with pain.
Our fully equipped wellness centre is located next to the golf course at the south end of the village and includes a 15-metre heated pool, a spa and a gymnasium.
Weekly hydrotherapy and water aerobics classes are offered, as well as gym circuit training, all with a qualified instructor. For lower impact options you may like to join in a tai chi class in our Palms Activity room or try our yoga – there are options to join in either a floor or a chair session.
