Our Team

  1. Chas Jacobsen
    Chas, the founder of The Village Glen, still offers the same vision, drive and creativity that he has provided since the inception of the Village in 1980. His love of the Mornington Peninsula, where he has resided for some 46 years, led to the commencement of the Village Glen and since then it strives to remain an industry leader and innovator. Chas continues to ensure that the high standards that he has set throughout his journey are maintained to provide a lifestyle and environment of which he is proud and which our residents can enjoy.

  2. Peter Nilsson
    Peter, a qualified Land Surveyor, was a consultant to Chas when The Village Glen commenced construction in 1979. Since that time Peter and his family have formed a long-term friendship with Chas and his family.
    Peter joined Chas and The Village Glen in April, 1993 as General Manager. He not only provides a wealth of experience in business management, but gives a compassionate understanding to the day-to-day and long term needs of the Village residents. Peter has a vital role at the Village Glen which he performs admirably.

  3. Jane Luxford
    Jane commenced employment in April, 1999, having spent many years in the legal profession. As Chas’ daughter, Jane is an integral part of a succession plan instigated by Chas to ensure the continuation of his vision and ideals. Jane was appointed Village Manager in July, 2003 and as such has the responsibility for day to day management of the Village Glen where she endeavours to provide a considerate, capable and caring support to the residents’ needs and expectations. She is also responsible for the management of our construction projects within the Village which includes renovations and the construction of new villas.

  4. Betty Milne
    Betty is the longest serving staff member having joined our management team in 1983. She has been involved in The Village Glen for almost all of its developmental years during which time she has gained a wealth of experience in Village affairs and management. As Financial Officer of Community Villages Australia Pty Ltd, her time is absorbed between financial and contractual obligations as well as providing her wealth of experience, care and attention in the day to day operation of the Village. Her contribution to Village Glen life has always been one of the utmost commitment and dedication.

  5. Jenny Martin
    Jenny has been employed at the Village since 1994 and is an essential part of the management team with her dedication, thoughtfulness and enthusiasm ever present. She utilises her wealth of experience in her liaison with the residents and in the management of the kitchen and nursing staff. She is also co-ordinator of the Village Glen Social Group who oversees the varied and busy social calendar of the Village. Jenny also assists our new residents with integrating into Village Glen life and helping them to get the most out of their new life here at the Village Glen.

  6. Robyn Haynes
    Robyn was first employed at the Village Glen in 2000 as the Village receptionist. Since then she has had varying duties to perform and was elevated some time ago to the role of Financial Controller for the Village Glen. Robyn is a valued and committed team member who is responsible for the accounts, Village Glen Power, rates, insurance and the preparation of the Village budget. Her diligence, professionalism and attention to her role is of great benefit to the Village Glen.

  7. Sonya O’Connor
    Sonya has been working at the Village Glen in various roles for many years. She assists with reception and many other duties and roles. Her wealth of experience knowledge, capabilities and capacity to fulfil a variety of positions is a great asset to the Village.

  8. Roger Gray
    Roger is the foreman for Programmed Property Services which provides staff for the garden maintenance services to the Village. Roger and his team assist our residents with their gardening and landscaping needs with a helpful, considerate and respectful manner.

  9. Angela D’Elton
    Angela is a long time employee of the Village. Her former role was as part of our nursing team. In 2003 Angela had a change in her career path and is now an essential part of the sales and marketing team. Future and current residents wishing to explore life at the Village Glen are entrusted into her care with great confidence. Her vast range of experience in Village matters and her kindness, consideration and professionalism is a credit to her.

  10. Jacqui Pope
    Jacqui has joined us as part-time receptionist and assists with reception duties. She also has the role of sales assistant on weekends and public holidays. Her bright and cheerful disposition is a welcome acquisition.

  11. Caroline joined the Village Glen team in June, 2010 as Maintenance Officer. She is responsible for a multitude of tasks that are involved in the day to day and long term maintenance of the Village Glen. She is also responsible for the gardening maintenance and the emergency call system. Caro has vast range of professional experience which correlates well to her role at the Village Glen. Her dedication and ability to respond to a variety of situations is extremely beneficial and valuable.

  12. Jennifer Ring
    Jennifer joined the Village team in June, 2007 and has the demanding role of Village receptionist which includes the many and varied tasks generated by the residents. This includes the responsibility of attending to resident enquiries, the collection of service fees and electricity accounts and bookings of functions and tours. In her role, Jennifer is perfectly suited as the “window” to the Village Glen with her attention to detail and caring and friendly nature.

  13. Nanette Haynes
    Nanette, a qualified registered nurse, is a long time employee of the Village Glen and is one of our day time community nurses. She is part of the quintet of registered nurses who provide very professional and caring support of our Village residents.

  14. Mary Yorke
    Mary is a very experienced qualified registered nurse and is also one of our day time community nurses. She is an essential part of the team who, like Nanette, responds to our emergency call system and liaises with our residents over many and varied medical situations. Mary brings great compassion and understanding to her role as Village Glen nurse.

  15. Megan Scott
    Megan Scott, is one of our on call after hours registered nurses and resides within the Village grounds. She has a vast range of nursing experience to draw from and has a substantial knowledge of the Village Glen and resident needs and expectations.

  16. Charlene Gainsford
    Charlene, a registered nurse, has joined the Village Glen as one of the on call after hours nursing team and also resides in the Village grounds. She brings a wide range of expertise and knowledge to her position.

  17. Rooney Fields
    Rooney, also a registered nurse, is our alternate weekend community nurse who with her vast range of nursing experience and compassionate and caring nature is a wonderful asset to the nursing team.

  18. Jenny Dalzell
    Jenny has operated the Village hairdressing salon since 2002 and has some 27 years experience in her own business. She is more than happy to share her extensive experience and caring and cheerful disposition with our Village residents and is a welcome and lively attribute to the atmosphere in the Village Glen Hub.

  19. Earl Scott
    Earl is a long serving and a well respected employee of the Village Glen, having joined Chas’ building company in 1966 and the Village Glen team in its infancy in 1979. Earl’s wide ranging and varied knowledge of the Village Glen is vital and he is fondly known around the Village as “Mr. Fixit”. Earl attends to resident maintenance requests in a caring, capable and skilful manner.

  20. Graeme Howson
    Graeme, a builder by trade, joined the Village Glen team to assist Earl and is also responsible for the varied and extensive maintenance requests of our residents. Graeme is very much a welcome addition to the Village Glen team and brings a caring and helpful nature together with a wealth of experience and knowledge.

  21. Gary Barnett
    Gary is the Chef Manager of our catering services which are managed by Medirest Australia. Gary brings his extensive knowledge and experience as a chef in England and Australia to share with the residents of the Village Glen.
